The Town of Putnam Valley Zoning Board of Appeals (ZBA) consists of five members, with advisement from the Town Engineer, Town Counsel, and Building Inspector. The ZBA interprets local zoning laws on projects referred to the board by the Building Inspector, who first issues a denial of an application. The ZBA grants or denies relief in the form of variances to such projects, hearing appeals on setbacks and other zoning restrictions while keeping in mind neighborhood boundaries and community welfare. The ZBA holds a public hearing monthly to hear and make determinations on said appeals.
