Putnam Valley Library for the 2nd annual Pumpkin Recycling Month

The Climate Smart Task Force is partnering with the Putnam Valley Grange and Putnam Valley Library for the 2nd annual Pumpkin Recycling Month!

From November 1st – 30th, residents are invited to bring their pumpkins and gourds to the bins at either the Grange or the Library’s drop-off location. Edible pumpkins will be donated for human consumption, and other donations in good condition will be brought to Cucumber Hill Farm in Putnam Valley to feed their animals. This event not only supports local agriculture but reduces harmful pollutants from incineration and landfilling.

Last year, we collected over 1,000lbs, and you can help us beat this record! Remember to remove any inorganic decorations before donating.
